1992

Matzen & Timm became a member of Smiths Industries plc. in London, UK.

1980

The licensing agreement with Flexfab Inc. terminates in 1980. Matzen & Timm begins to develop and produce its own industrial-grade hoses under the names 'Flexafit', 'Flexavant', 'Flexanorm' and 'Flexrapid'. Matzen & Timm becomes one of the major suppliers of extremely light-weight, high temperature-resistant hoses.

1972

In 1972 Matzen & Timm moves into new headquarters in the Hanseatenhaus in Hamburg's Stellingen. 

1970

The experience gained over the past years is put to good use when Matzen & Timm establishes its own production facility in the early 1970s. Matzen & Timm acquires from Flexfab Inc., a US-based manufacturer, the authorisation to produce hoses under licence for the next 10 years.

1950

In the late 1950s Matzen & Timm gains a Germany-wide reputation as the sole distributor of extremely light-weight high temperature hoses manufactured by the US firm Flexible Tubing.

1925

Two Hamburg-based entrepreneurs, Oscar Matzen and Otto Timm, found a business bearing their names that is initially active in the export sector. For a while, Matzen & Timm is among the leading European rock salt dealers and supplies clients as far away as west Africa.
