100 years of Matzen & Timm
Since its foundation in 1925 by the two businessmen Oscar Matzen and Otto Timm, Matzen & Timm has had an eventful history. From a leading European trader of rock salt with sales markets in western Africa to the production of plastic hoses under license and the in-house development and manufacture of high-temperature hoses for industrial applications. Today, Matzen & Timm is a long-standing and certified partner of the aviation industry worldwide.
Re-certification according to EN 9100
The control of processes using the key performance indicator system, the completely revised supplier selection and evaluation process and the open communication within the company were particularly emphasized.
Film about the external work group at Elbe-Werkstätten
Film off - was the motto in Norderstedt some time ago. In the leading role: the team of the Elbe-Werkstätten external work group. Now the movie is finished. The collaboration between Matzen & Timm and Elbe-Werkstätten is now in its 14th year. And is a successful model for both sides, as Managing Director Peter Bremer emphasized in an interview. His conclusion: “Inclusion is lived here.”
Another award as TOP innovator
The Masterflex Group has been recognized as one of the most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany in the TOP 100 innovation competition - for the fourth time.
Masterflex Cesko is successfully recertified according to EN 9100
The certification according to EN 9100:2018 for the aerospace industry underlines the high quality standard at the Planá site in the Czech Republic. The recertification has now been successfully implemented in close cooperation between the Planá and Norderstedt sites near Hamburg. EN 9100 is an extension of ISO 9001 and a special standard for the aerospace industry.
New managing director
Mr. Peter Bremer, previously Managing Director of Novoplast Schlauchtechnik GmbH and Managing Director Operations Europe, takes over the management of Matzen & Timm GmbH.
Successful recertification according to DIN EN 9100
Matzen & Timm, the aviation specialist within the Masterflex Group, has been successfully recertified according to DIN EN 9100.

Matzen & Timm honored as “Best Improver
Airbus honors Matzen & Timm with the SQIP “Best Improver” award at the Supplier Conference in Toulouse. The prize is awarded for improved delivery reliability and sustainable quality and is part of the Airbus “Supply Chain & Quality Improvement” program, or SQIP for short.

Matzen & Timm successfully recertified in accordance with EN 9100:2016
This year's revision brought three major changes. Firstly, the so-called “High Level Structure” was taken from the quality management standard ISO 9001: 2015, meaning that the requirements of ISO 9001 also became part of the new EN 9100, and secondly, additional industry-specific criteria were redefined.
Mint:pink starts in Norderstedt
We are part of it: Matzen & Timm supports the Mint:pink program, in which schoolgirls experiment in laboratories, visit so-called MINT locations and have many opportunities to talk to successful women in MINT professions. MINT stands for mathematics, information technology, natural sciences and technology. The idea behind the project is to inspire even more girls and show them ways into technical professions.
Exemplary project: getting refugees into work
Ten interested applicants completed a 14-day internship in production, eight of whom received an employment contract. A language teacher taught the men from Syria, Eritrea, Afghanistan, Macedonia, Albania and Iran German, so that integration took place through language and daily work. The project was supported by an external partner. The result: half of the men have managed to integrate and are now in regular employment.
High-tech above the clouds (“Wirtschaft zwischen Nordsee und Ostsee”)
With innovative technologies and decades of experience, companies from the Lübeck IHK district supply highly developed components for the aerospace industry. Matzen & Timm, for example, produces everything from series production to individually manufactured one-off items - such as a connecting part for a special aerospace application that can no longer be replaced. “Producing a maintenance-free part is quite something,” says Managing Director Dirk Baumann.
Matzen & Tim starts in the dragon boat race
The “Dragon Hoses” achieve 5th place in the “long boat” category at the annual dragon boat race on Norderstedt's Stadtparksee.
Matzen & Timm supports various projects such as the location campaign of the NORDGATE business association, a future project for young people with the Willy Brandt School in Norderstedt, the “Business for a week” project of the non-profit association Futurepreneur e.V. In addition, a new logo shines above the entrance at the Nordportbogen.
